Meet The Team

KAREN

A native of Connecticut, Karen moved to Florida in 2013 to escape the cold and be close to family.

Karen graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor’s degree in Design and Merchandising.

It was during a work study program at Bloomingdale’s she discovered her love of color, decorating, and all things design. She dabbled in various areas of design, always doing craft projects and helping family and friends with their home décor needs. Karen spent the bulk of her time raising her three sons, participating in school events and volunteering.

In 1999 when the boys were self-sufficient, she began designing window treatments, pillows, bedding, and the list goes on, working for a large retailer. In 2008 Karen started her own decorating business and further flourished until the time she moved to South Florida.

Karen’s keen eye for color and an expertise regarding how fabrics perform, she was a natural fit at The Marquis Design Group, joining our team in 2017. She oversees all the window interior and soft treatment aspects of our client’s homes. Karen works hand in hand with designers to ensure the final product is seamless and everyone looks good.

In her spare time, Karen loves to cook, entertain, taste wine, go to the theater and travel.

WILLIAM

Will, born and raised in West Palm Beach, decided to trade in his swim suit for a snow suit and move to Boston for college; even though he still wore flip flops in the snow! He pursued his undergraduate degree from Mount Ida College, in Newton Massachusetts where he received his Bachelor degree in Fashion Design. After school Will had enough of the cold and returned to the sunshine state.

Will has been a member of our team since 2010. He arrived with a plethora of experience as he started sewing at age 10 at sewing camp, yes sewing camp is a real thing. He soon transitioned from a seamster making custom draperies, pillows, cushions, and bedding to his current position as workroom manager. Will oversees all aspects of the workroom, from production of all custom projects and any challenges that come with custom work to the day-to-day operations. Additionally, Will fabricates all of our custom headboards, ottomans, and cornice boards - from the ground up, leaving no detail unfinished. If you can imagine it, he can figure out a way to make it happen.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his very close family, traveling with his friends, and volunteering with Dress for Success of the Palm Beaches. Will is an avid costume designer for local drama theaters and ballet studios. His work can be seen gracing the stage in such productions as, “The Nutcracker”, “Swan Lake”, “A Midsummer Nights Dream”, and “The Addams Family Values”.
